I recently saw the new movie "Fury". Fury is a gritty film, with great productions values, really period vehicles, settings and costume. The acting is good Here is my take on this movie (SPOILERS): Brad Pitt plays a psychotic tank platoon sergeant who kills an unarmed, clearly surrendering POW to teach a new tank crew member "how to kill". No officers or senior NCOs make any effort to stop him. His company commander next gives him an important mission for his tank platoon. On this mission, thru poor crew discipline, poor road march discipline, and very bad tank tactics ends up getting his entire platoon wiped out.But the positive side it does manage the singular achievement of most war movie clichés fit into two hours:
Kill a German officer on horseback - check
Christian singing hymns - check
Mexican crew member made fun of for speaking Spanish - check
Hardened leader with a unknown pre-war history who has a private emotional breakdown - check
Young replacement who struggles to fit in with seasoned veterans but wins them over in the end - check

This time, the themes are growing up as a victim, confronting your past, the satanic panic of the 80's, as as with Gone Girl, the lies we tell ourselves and others. Dark Places is definitely worth the price of admission. 9/10

Excellent, excellent film. How "Furious 7" received such great reviews and this film did not is beyond me. Definitely pay to watch it. Do a great film justice and don't let it die with Furious pissing on its grave.Child 44 is a stellar movie with a stellar cast. I've thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It's a 2 hour and 17 minutes movie but I've totally forgotten about the time, caught up in the suspense. It's not the typical historical drama. This film is really precious in my opinion. I've always had this negative impression on the Russians or the Soviet Union, formed from the Cold War period. But this film is wonderful in showing that these Russians, they're just human like us. They would love to protect their loved ones. Amid their fierce madness, there is love and kindness too. Amid this crazy times, every single person's life is in danger. Everyone is trying, in their own way, to survive. Story wise, I really love how it all flows and ties in together. No random scenes, everything has it purpose and connection.In my knowledge, there are not many Hollywood films that would show the Russians in a positive manner, but this film does and I really love that fact. It changed my opinion on them. Everyone, just watch the film now and be impressed, I don't wanna give any spoilers ;)

striking and a very well paced and intricate development of characters
as well as interesting set design helps keep Chappie fresh and not just
another reboot of any other sci-fi film as critics will have you
